Mabushi Bus Terminal – Price List, Phone Numbers

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, led by Barrister Nyesom Wike and supported by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has announced the newly completed Mabushi Bus Terminal to help reduce the transportation problem in Abuja.

The Mabushi Bus Terminal is part of efforts led by the Minister of FCT Abuja, Barrister Nyesom Wike, to modernise public transportation, improve security and end the use of illegal roadside loading points across Abuja, in a bid to make the city one of the best in the world, competing with the likes of Madrid, London, Paris, Johannesburg.

Speaking on this matter, the Mandate Secretary of the Transportation Secretariat, Chinedum Elechi, disclosed that the Mabushi bus terminal would serve as one of Abuja’s designated hubs for interstate transport operations, and that commercial parks would no longer be allowed to run commercial parks from unauthorised locations or stop anywhere within the city where there is no designated bus stop.

The Mabushi Bus Terminal is part of Tinubu’s led plan to build an organised and secure public transport system that would benefit the nation’s capital.

Don’t forget that the Mabushi terminal is the very first set of modernized government-owned terminals built in the 50-year history of the FCT, this includes the terminals located in Kugbo and the Central Business District.

The Mabushi Bus Terminal is not privately owned, however, the facility was developed under a Public-Private Partnership arrangement and will serve as a place where various commercial transport companies (both privately owned transport companies and single-owned bus owners) will operate. This certainly will provide a safer, more organised environment for operators and commuters.

The Secretariat further said, and I quote below:

“We are certainly not driving you away. We are asking you now that we have built a better place for you under the ambiance, under the comfort.

“We are not taking food from anybody because we’re asking you to leave those unhealthy places, those unsafe places, for modern bus terminals built with billions of Naira.”

Watch Mabushi Bus Terminal in Operation

@prettyabuja Mabushi bus terminal now operational!! Note: It’s not fully fully operational atm, they’re still doing some finishings but the buses and cars move so those are active and operational right now so you can book and make enquiries! The bus terminal is to replace the motor parks in utako and banex, they’re various private transport companies here already like Guo and more and others to join soon and the buses go to other states like Lagos, Jos, Kaduna, port harcourt, Akwa ibom, Enugu, and more! 📌 The space gives off airport vibes and we love it and the space is clean so far, the toilet is clean also with running water and it costs N100 to use. 📌 It is also wheelchair accessible which is great and they have elevators as well 👏 📌 There is a food court and a cinema, we can’t wait to see how those work out 😁👏 There is also a bus terminal at Kugbo but rain fell a while back and damaged the roof, there’s no update on that yet. Mabushi Bus Terminals Destinations 2026

This Bus terminal will be covering intercity routes, taking passengers/commuters to Aba, Lokoja, Owerri and Sokoto. Other states would soon follow. All vehicles are now required to operate from designated terminals instead of picking passengers from roadsides or private premises, which have been converted into unlawful motor parks.

One of the major aims of creating the Mabushi Bus Terminals is not just to improve the appearance of Abuja, but to help the government tackle the ever-increasing incidents and criminal activities linked to unregulated transport operators within the city.

Elechi further disclosed that previous enforcement exercises carried out by Law enforcement officers were followed by appeals from operators, leading the administration to release more than 100 impounded vehicles that were originally impounded by the government. The impounded vehicles have been returned to their owners after the government obtained written undertakings that the owners would comply with the law.

Elechi said the government is not going to relax and watch these drivers operate illegally, but will ask law enforcement officers to return to the roads and impound any vehicle caught violating the undertakings, describing the situation as a game of “cat and mouse.”

“So, I’m only saying that we’re ready. I, Mandate Secretary of Transportation, I’m ready. Government is ready.

“So, whoever thinks that government policies should not be obeyed, we’re going to have to clean up the city.”

Elechi asked the drivers to help themselves and relocate to the designated terminals or risk having their vehicles impounded and prosecuted through mobile courts established under existing transport regulations of the nation.
