Abuja to Benin Bus Price Checked
Going through various websites of transportation companies in Nigeria, for example, GIGM displayed ₦46,750 for a one-way adult Toyota Premium trip from Abuja Utako to Benin Uselu. The route price is the current price for October, November, and December 2026.
| Item | Checked Detail |
|---|---|
| Operator | GIGM, also known as GIG Mobility |
| Departure | FCT Abuja, Utako |
| Destination | Edo, Benin Uselu |
| Vehicle | Toyota Premium |
| Adult Fare | ₦46,750 |
| Result Status | Available price card |
Using the GIGM platform where we performed the search, both for checking and departure, the price card did not show a departure time or a remaining seat count, as is often disclosed on numerous transport review websites.
However, while using the GIGM online booking website, you are allowed to confirm a specific departure and seat in the booking flow before treating this as a complete travel plan.
Still, on the topic of how much it will cost you to travel from Abuja to Benin City, I visited the official ABC transport portal, where I searched for Abuja to Benin, and it disclosed that there are no available buses for the same sample date.
This means that the Abuja to Benin bus price is coming only from one verified transport company (GIGM). Knowing GIGM, you’ll be certain that this is not the cheapest fare across all Abuja transport companies’ terminals. I’ll argue that other travel companies are unlikely to provide you with the comfort and reliability of GIGM.
However, other travelling companies, privately owned or personal buses, may likely charge you less for travelling from Abuja to Benin. You’ll be charged between the ranges of ₦37,000 and ₦41,500, depending on your selected transport company and bus type. (Executive buses have AC and enough Legroom, whereas regular buses hardly come with AC, but are relatively cheaper compared to executive buses).
Abuja to Benin 2026 Price List
Currently, the 2026 transportation fare from Benin City to Abuja, or from Abuja to Benin City ranges from ₦37,000 to ₦41,500, and this depends fully on the type of bus (regular or executive) and the transportation company you’re using. Below, I list major transport companies and their prices.
- Big Joe Ventures / Big Joe Motors: ₦37,000 – ₦41,500
- Alternative transport companies like Peace Mass Transit or ABC Transport charge less compared to GIGM.
Utako Boarding and Uselu Arrival
GIGM’s Utako terminal is located at Plot 113, I.V.W. Osisidgwu Crescent, beside Utako Police Station, Utako District, Abuja. Confirm the entrance and reporting time on the ticket before arranging transport there.
The official Benin Uselu address where the GIGM bus will be arriving is 202 Uselu Lagos Road, Ugbowo, Benin City. I recommend you keep this information in mind while travelling, and via trusted friends, do share that address and the operator name with anyone meeting you.
GIGM also has other locations in Benin City where they drop passengers, not only through its terminal, including Akpakpava. However, when using the GIGM online platform to book a ticket from Abuja to Benin, I was not given the choice of choosing Akpakpava as my arrival point, or choosing a different park after boarding.
This is why I always recommend passengers using companies like Peace Mass Transit, Libra, GIGM, ABC Transport, etc., to always ask the customer service team important questions like these: whether they are allowed to stop in any parks, or if every passenger is required to stop at their final bus stop/terminal.
What Still Needs a Live Booking Check?
If you’re booking a ticket online from any transportation company website, or through third-party websites, ensure that the departure time is confirmed, the seat layout, the final amount, and the expected arrival timeframe for the bus you choose.
Passengers who selected travelling companies like GIGM can check in 30 minutes before their scheduled departure time. Passengers who booked tickets online, or purchased them a few days ago, should try their best to be in the terminal/park, at the least, 30 -60 minutes before departure time.
Carrying Additional Luggage Can Affect Your Total Cost
GIGM’s bus terms specify one medium bag per ticket, with stated dimensions of 30 by 22 by 15 inches. Check your bag against the operator’s rule before paying, particularly if you intend to carry a rigid or oversized case.
The terms say excess luggage may require a logistics arrangement or an additional seat. No fixed excess-bag fee for this route was verified. Ask which arrangement is available and what it costs rather than assuming the ₦46,750 ticket covers several large bags.
Keep fragile valuables with you in line with the operator’s luggage instructions. If you are sending goods rather than carrying ordinary personal luggage, confirm whether they belong in a separate cargo booking.
For two adults with ordinary accepted luggage, the observed single-seat prices would total ₦93,500 before any separately disclosed charge. That arithmetic is not a group offer or a guarantee that two seats remain available.
Changes, Cancellations and Booking Support.
GIGM’s bus policy allows commuters to reschedule and reroute. However, don’t assume that an ordinary date change is free simply because the ticket is unused. Don’t forget that they kept the seat for you, meaning there were waiting customers who would have taken the seat and paid for it. The only way you can get a refund or reschedule is to cancel your ticket at least 24 hours before your scheduled date.
For cancellation, the GIGM official policy clearly states that customers who cancel their tickets and give three days (72 Hours) notice will get a deduction of 15%, 20% two days before, and 30% one day before. It states a 50% refund deduction where the passenger fails to cancel or notify the company at least a day before travel.
